· Jul 21, 2021. #5. Day hikes my poncho always comes with, but I've yet to use it as a shelter on a day hike. Well outside of sitting out a storm tucked inside of it. It's also been my rain gear for a number of years. And on one occasion so far my shelter as well. Mine is the MyTrail poncho tarp, previously GoLight and once again out of business.
